How’s 10-15 minutes?
The first step is applying moisturizer. I switch up my moisturizers very regularly, but currently I use Clean & Clear’s Oil-Free Dual Action Moisturizer. The next step is applying a small amount of my e.l.f. Mineral Face Primer. This primer provides me with a smooth canvas to work on, and it also helps my makeup to stay in place throughout the day.
I suffer from acne scars, so concealer is really one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Also, if you’ve seen me around without makeup, you may have noticed a huge blue-green birthmark on the left side of my face. To hide these imperfections, I use my Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Concealer in Deep 34 and just dab it on where I need it the most. I also use it to cover up my dark undereye circles. If I’m lazy, I’ll just use my fingers to apply. However, my favourite way is using a damp cosmetic wedge which helps it to blend into my skin effortlessly.
This concealer was designed by Kat Von D to cover up tattoos (I have no ink, so I can’t comment on that), but it really does work wonders when it comes on to little acne scars and such. What I love about it is that I don’t need to apply too much (a good thing actually since as the tube is so tiny) in order to achieve full coverage.
Foundation isn’t really my thing. I often use concealer only and set with a powder, especially during the day. After testing out a few brands at Sephora, I settled with Kat Von D’s Lock-It Tattoo Foundation. Why? Because it is highly pigmented, even without a concealer underneath, this covers up blemishes and other little imperfections. Consider it two in one! I use the shade Medium 62 and apply with a foundation brush and blend, blend, blend! I also ensure that I blend it into my neck to avoid any noticeable lines. To be honest, this foundation is a little thick and heavy, especially for daytime use, so I apply only at nights. Even with that, it is still one of my staple products.
After I have completed the above steps, I normally wait a few seconds for all that to soak in then I set it with my Black Opal Deluxe Finishing Powder in Neutral Light. By dusting just a little over my face, it gives me that smooth natural finish.
There’s nothing I love more than a natural-looking glow. To achieve this, I use Bare Minerals All-Over Face Colour in Warmth as a bronzer. I normally start in the hollows of my cheek, blending it up to my temples and into my hair line. You only need a small amount, so this teeny tiny container of product will last for a while.
Now on to the eyes…
I usually use eyeshadow only if I’m going out at nights. To achieve a very neutral eye look, I use my Sleek Oh So Special Palette (not pictured). I first start off by applying “Organza” all over my lid, then I apply the shade “Boxed” on the outer corners, blending into my crease.
Next on the list – eyeliner. I’m not too picky when it comes on to choosing an eyeliner brand, and so right now I use e.l.f. Studio Kohl Eyeliner (not pictured) to line my upper eyelid.
My lashes are one of my favourite features. Without mascara they’re still very long and full, but if I want to add even more drama, I reach for my Maybelline Volum’ Express: the Mega Plush in Brownish Black. One thing I like about this mascara is that it doesn’t clump, and so I have been going back to this one for a few years.
I’m not a fan of filling in my brows. Instead, I grow them out and get them waxed so that they are full and neatly groomed. There are times where a little filling in may be necessary, and in this case I use my Milani EasyBrow Automatic Pencil in Dark Brown.
On a regular day I’ll just use lip balm. My current favourite is EOS and my favourite flavour is Sweet Mint. I also swear by Maybelline Baby Lips, with Quench being my current favourite. I find these two products to be very moisturizing and really helpful in preventing my lips from becoming dry and cracked, especially during the summer months.
So there you have it! As I said before, nothing too complicated.
Have a nice day!
